5 Books For New Teachers – Read These Before Entering the Classroom

I really wish I had been reading a list of really useful and practical books before I started my first year of teaching. It is about 30 years too late for me, but I hope that this list of useful books will reduce your learning curve and prevent you from making many common mistakes, to do the other teachers. The following books are not in order of importance.

* Harry Wong, the first day of school. Wong has taught middle school, but his ideas are easily adapted to any grade level. Wong’s goal in this book is to create effective teachers, beginning with the first day of school. His book is easy to read and contains many stories relating to new teachers. His book consists of five properties, a good teacher: Basic understanding, positive expectations, classroom management, lesson mastery and professional. The first time I read this book, I taught 25 years. I found a lot of information that I could implement in my classroom. Keep this book in hand. (more…)

Towards Schooling For The 21st Century

In our “Educational Leadership” class we were assigned a task to review a book about leadership. The book was our group, “Towards Education for the 21st Century” written by Per Dalin elected Dean and Val Rust. It is in 1996, published by Redwood Books. This is a book series expansion of the school, the series editors were: David Reynolds and David Hopkins.

Rationale for selection of the Book

To select the book for review, we define (all members of the group) to meet certain criteria. The first thing that came to our study, the relevance of our work during PL. Second, we examined the book, which is the vision of education for future generations. We chose the books mentioned above. This book shows the weaknesses in the current educational policy and practice of teaching and learning in schools, it also highlights the future trends and requirements of the school. We found all members valuable for our future educational leadership roles and teacher-trainer, because he will lead us to be equipped with adequate resources, before they enter the classroom. (more…)
