Are guide books abound. But there are very few set values ??before all these leadership skills at all. In this book Harry Kraemer has identified four values-based leadership and shared his personal experiences, how to validate these principles work.

The pearls of wisdom in this book are many. My book is more than just text highlights in some places. What is unusual is the lack of recent activity and the simplicity of the message.

As leaders practice self-reflection (principle 1) through balance, trust and true humility followed authentic, then the organization has a much better chance of leading with values ??instead of the ego. After the discussion of each of these principles, affirmative action, Kraemer, why create the heart of business ethics more shareholder value. In addition, time spent with the discussion of the difference between what is legal and what is right.

Talent management and leadership development are much more effective if you approach these two items from an e-mail-based values. Finally, organizations are all people together, to this hairy audacious goals are generally difficult or impossible to achieve individually would.

Kraemer believes that the administration is less than the following C must have the leadership in the organization. Um is the personnel department or other false. The reason why the document is usually the wrong people in the wrong seats.

Silo thinking can be seen also among the leaders. If this happens, my lawn or a silo is greater than the vision of large organizations and that creates bad performance.

With a “clear direction” is also critical to an organization values ??leadership. As Theodore Hesburgh said: “No one can follow an uncertain trumpet.” Kraemer Einstein believed in the statement of “do everything as simple as possible but not simpler.”

Comments came from a safe environment where people feel comfortable room itself. Effective communication must be “clear, simple, direct and concise.” Kraemer Tip offer is to give three times more frequently in bad times. Another observation is common sense “when the people are related, they will follow.” Leaders must be traceable to fill this order and the perceived to be at the top. The human contact is a good leader.

Another advantage of a leading position in ethics is the high motivation and commitment of the team. Teams do not come together naturally, but “by design and intent developed.”

The final act of values, it is precisely the act or the execution and implementation. Kramer believes that the execution has more often than not, at the foot of the leadership are not taken and failed extenuating circumstances.

After reading many books on leadership, this is probably one of the best I’ve read in the last 10 years. Simple, direct, to the point and beyond everything else, this book is simply common sense.

Well, you’ve written something good, and you want to see the world. You have sent a few publishers and agents, not only in a few competitions, but unfortunately no one found your book. So, what are your options?

Self-publishing is often been seen as a bit of a poor brother of the big publishers, but there are some important things to note.

The positive aspect of self-publishing.

If anyone has a chance to see your book as you succeed?

Self-publishing does not mean huge dollars to pay someone, only to end up with a thousand copies of your book stacked in the garage.

Self-publishing, you can still have access to online stores like Amazon, etc. The Book Depository, which allow you to be seen by thousands of readers.

The fees for self-publishing are generally higher than the average spend by an editor.

As an unknown author, reviewer, you expect a lot of time and money, even self-promotion, and you spend your book before they make an investment decision in the process. In this case, why not do it yourself and you keep increasing the speed?

Reading in the digital world of books, you can easily book your customers with all types of electronic reading devices, for little or no cost.

But how do you do that? I’ll show you how.

The easy and inexpensive to publish your book yourself.

There are a number of companies around the self-help you publish, but I’ll take it as an example – CreateSpace. Let me first say that I in no way affiliated with CreateSpace, other than I’m used to publish’m connected to one of my books. I feel I can give you an impartial view and true from my experience with them, and how you are doing.

CreateSpace (I think) was purchased from Amazon to offer a “print on demand system for their business. This means that it is very easy to be listed for your book on Amazon.com, when you create space (in the Indeed, it is done automatically and for free) to use. You can also access to other major suppliers such as The Book Depository.

Have some or all of the setup work itself – your choice.

I enjoyed with CreateSpace because I as little or as much preparation of the book I felt like it could work. I have a good handle on software such as Word, Photoshop and InDesign, so I decided to do all my configuration. It is not difficult to create files for books made of paper – the website gives you a lot of tutorials and videos show you how.

I also had a friend who was a professional editor, so I (and a few other friends) to edit and correct my manuscript. I had too much fun to create a blanket, and even found a tutorial on the Web to design my blanket to help.

CreateSpace does not offer professional services for interior decoration, publishing, marketing, etc., but it is up to you if you want to use them or not. If you created your account and upload your manuscript, you can then order a copy, to ensure that all seek evidence, as it should (I managed to get one for free from a promotion code, so keep an eye on them). If you are happy, you can log in and order copies for themselves. The price of course depends on the size of the books, and the number of pages down, but I thought it was very good. For my 95 000 word novel, it was U.S. $ 4.78 a copy. The thing that hurts a little postage, but it was still cheaper, a copy of the United States gave me a copy to send to have Sydney from Melbourne (both Australia Post, thank you!). Of course it could be cheaper for you in your situation. You can order as many or as few copies as you want and you can order more whenever you want.

They offer a “pro-plan” which is cheaper, increased by your book, your fee can buy, and gives you the expanded distribution. For U.S. $ 39 per year, it was obvious to me.

Creation of digital versions of your book for e-readers.

Your book in digital form offers CreateSpace to do a service. You may also consider a company called Smashwords, which is suitable for your book in a number of formats for all types of e-readers to convert, and also give you your own page on their website. They have a good tutorial to show you how to do and best of all, it’s free! I used the service too, and found it very easy to use.

The final result.

If you want to see how these companies portray your book on their websites, visit my “book” page of my website and take a look. You will see links to Amazon, the Book Depository, my CreateSpace page and Smashwords. If you have an iPad, you will be my book in the library to find iPad. As you can see, there are many effective ways for customers to find and buy my book. My task now is to help them to be aware!

And against self-publishing?

Let’s be honest prefer, most of us will be published by a major publisher, and be able to see your book on store shelves across the country. Unless you are willing to spend time to fall in bookstores and sell them on the idea of ??saving a few copies of your book, it will not happen with self-publishing. If your book is good with a publishing house, they become more and more resources behind them, to make the results even better for your future work. It handles the marketing, and you can spend your time trying to write, or attend lectures and book presentations, and chat with your fans adored him. However, if you find it difficult to read your manuscript to a publisher, or have been eliminated again as many times as to ask you whether your book will never see the light of day begin to find, consider themselves to publish.

Conclusion.

The companies that I mentioned here a just a few of many that will help you, your book in print form. For virtually no cost, you can use your book available through corporate general ledger in a variety of formats. The need for vanity publishers that control the high cost to your book a reality is a thing of the past – Self-publishing can now be fun and rewarding inepxensive.

Summary

To read foreign literature in the original language is the ultimate goal for many students in foreign languages. To read the note receivable from a few thousand characters of Chinese literature, the challenge is especially great for students of Chinese. Lu Xun is the author most famous in China and is often referred to as the “father” of modern Chinese literature. Read as Lu Xun, to experience life in China during the decline of the Qing Dynasty and the Rise of the People’s Republic of China. His characters are touching, his style is sarcastic, and his stories are unforgettable. While his stories are laced with difficult sentences Chinese allusions to Chinese classics and historical references, stories too important not to read. With a little help and a historical introduction, the Chinese students can enjoy their stories and the satisfaction of reading one of the greatest writers from around the world in the original language. In this article I will use my experience with the reading of Lu Xun in China to explore and hopefully will inspire you to do the same.

Playing the father of modern Chinese literature – Nahan Lu Xun

Master a foreign language is like the master of another culture. If you start to learn a foreign language, go to a different lifestyle and a different mindset. If you really want a foreign language that you have the history and culture, speaks the language mastered. How many people can say they speak fluently without having read some of the best English writers like Shakespeare or Mark Twain English? Too many idioms and cultural references from the literature. Without cultural frame of reference, if you want to learn another language, you will be lost to some questions.

One of his biggest goals when learning another language is able to read the literature. I find that fascinating literature so because it provides an overview of the local perspective. Literature in the original language gives way first to the history, culture and philosophies from other cultures to understand.

In this article I am going about my experiences with the reading of Lu Xun Nahan, where I learned a lot about Chinese history and culture through the “father” of modern Chinese literature. When Julia Lovell, a translator of the work of Lu Xun, said: “Lu Xun to read a snapshot of the late imperial and early Republican China.” (Liu 2009)

While Lu Xun is the pioneer, the writing academic essays and short stories in the dialect of Chinese is started, his Chinese is a little different from what you find in the novels of today. And the fact that works of Lu Xun are difficult even for native speakers. His short stories are the history and politics of his time, and are connected without an understanding of the history of the spirit of Lu Xun and difficult to understand sarcasm.

To overcome these problems, we’ll look at a brief history of Chinese writing and then take a look at Chinese history at the time of Lu Xun.

Written Chinese – A Short History

Silent Night in the study of Lu Xun, he writes: “.. There are only two paths open to us is one of our classical language and cling to die, the other is pushed aside and live the language” If Lu Xun said, ” our classical language “refers to the Chinese literature in Chinese known as Wenyanwen. The writing style has its roots in classical Chinese (guwen) in the Zhou Dynasty (1045 BC to 256 BC) to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD ) was used. Grammar, vocabulary and style of the writing of these early Chinese roots. After the Han dynasty, China began speaking specially designed with a growing number of dialects, but the Chinese literature remained essentially the same. The differences between the two can be compared with the German and Latin. While the German Latin roots, the Germans certainly not in Latin, much less write in Latin, without a long training in the language. Chinese Literature in principle a different language with its own vocabulary and grammar.

An example of the literary Chinese, we will see an excerpt from the introduction of Lu Xun Diary of a Madman below.

“Two brothers, whose name I can not mention here, both good friends in high school, but have after a separation of several years, we gradually lost sight of some time ago I heard that happened,” One of them was seriously ill, and. I returned to my homeland, I broke my journey to call it, I saw one, but told who to me that the patient was a young brother. “(Hsien-yi and Yang 1960)

Chinese students are likely to find the Chinese origin extremely difficult. Chinese literature uses succinct phrases that would normally take twice as long spoken in Chinese. The vocabulary is obscure and struggling to many Chinese to understand. During my study of the agenda of a madman, I consulted with many native speakers and English translations of this paragraph. Many times, the importance of not disagree, and sometimes in conflict. Lu Xun Literary Chinese saw it as a major obstacle to universal literacy through China and saw his reforms as a cornerstone of modernization.

His first short story under the pseudonym of Lu Xun, Diary of a mad and is regarded as the first short story written in Chinese vernacular are celebrated. If you read this story, with the exception of the first two paragraphs you will find the style is similar to that of spoken Chinese. For the most part the text is easily understandable and can be read aloud.

This form of writing called baihuawen. Baihuawen can change the place of the Chinese literary Latin are considered as the Catholic Church with the vernacular. Traditionalists were angry, but people could not read. With the growing popularity of vernacular writings, the Chinese have also begun to use punctuation in the West. Traditional Chinese literature was almost entirely free of punctuation.

So while the stories of Lu Xun still might be difficult for even native Chinese students and to read his works are much more accessible then pre-Lu Xun worked.

A brief history of Chinese Lu Xun

Before reading Lu Xun, we need the context of the world he lived in. After the first Opium War in 1839 to understand China was to assess the strength of the external world and the Chinese began to take their big open need of modernization. The Western powers had violated China’s sovereignty and its neighbors, Japan, came to China to take advantage. China was divided into different areas of influence. The Germans were in Shandong, the Japanese were in Manchuria, and the British were in Hong Kong. Major port cities such as Shanghai and Tianjin have many foreign concessions.

The Qing dynasty was overthrown in February 1912 and was of the Republic of China. While Sun Yat-sen (Sun Zhongshan), had the Republic of China, the army, Yuan Shikai, founded shortly after usurped power and took the opportunities corrupt Qing Dynasty before him. He even declared that a new imperial dynasty in 1916, before he died that same year.

All over the world, Europe was active in the First World War of 1914 to 1919. The Chinese provided 140,000 soldiers of the Allied powers, while Shandong, which was in German control, will be returned to China. After the war, Shandong has not returned to China, but were sold in Japan than in the Treaty of Versailles described. China refused to cancel the contract and mass demonstrations in Beijing 4th May 1919 broke out, sign it in order to secure against the government’s failure to advance the interests of China during the peace negotiations protest.

The period shortly before the death of Yuan Shikai in 1921 is generally referred to as the May Fourth Movement in memory of the protest and is also known as a new cultural movement. Meanwhile, in China, Lu Xun began, to write short stories in the hope that the Chinese people to inject a new spirit. Lu Xun wrote in the preface to Nahan: “The important thing is it was so, so changing them [the Chinese] spirit, and since then I have a feeling that literature is the best means to that end I decided to promote a literary movement. “(Hsien-yi and Yang 1960) In the new cultural movement that began to influence the writing of Lu Xun, the Chinese thought. His friends were the publication of a magazine called New Youth and Lu Xun asked to write for them. His first story, The Diary of a Madman was published in New Youth in 1918 and since Lu Xun has an important voice in this movement sought to determine the future of China.

Story Behind Their Stories

The audience stories of Lu Xun was the population of China during this turbulent time in Chinese history. Many of his stories relate to the “backward traditions”, or current events of the time. Without an understanding of some of these historical references, a lot of humor in Lu Xun lost, and the stories lose much of its meaning. However, with a historical introduction, the stories were exciting and give an insight into Chinese thinking in these times.

We will examine two of the most famous short stories of Lu Xun, medicine and Yijia Kong.

Medicine

Dark and mysterious medicine begins with the father in the early morning hours, leaving a large chunk of money in your pocket. The father comes home with a mantou wrapped in red paper lantern. He spent his savings on family mantou heat they give to their sick son. My son is crazy cough and they hope to give it that mantou to cure his tuberculosis. The secret ingredient costs for this object is the blood that is drunk. The blood of a young revolutionary who was running this morning. The revolution has by his own family members who pocketed a reward had been exposed. As we know, human blood does not cure tuberculosis, but after some Chinese myths, human blood was the cure for you. As the family was desperate to save their only son, she took the risk and tried to save her son.

Her son died, the young revolutionary was killed, and the family’s savings are in the hands of a few shady characters. Stories of Lu Xun has been particularly poignant because of their connection with current events in China.

The revolutionary history refers to the real anti-Qing revolutionary Qiu Jin (1879? -1907). His older cousin Xu Xilin led a failed uprising against the Qing dynasty in July 1907 by the assassination of the governor of Anhui province in the hope of triggering a broad rebellion. After the capture and execution Xu Xilin, Qiu Jin, planning a coordinated attack in the province of Zhejiang, was at his school, tortured and then beheaded in his home town, Shaoxing, arrested a few days later. The Father of History mantou buys with the blood of Qiu Jin filled.

Lu Xun’s father also died of tuberculosis, and that Lu Xun’s family was wealthy, they could spend a small fortune to treat his illness. Lu Xun’s father went to a famous traditional Chinese doctor in search of healing. Lu Xun as described in the preface to Nahan in his youth:

“For over four years, I go almost every day at a pawn shop and a medical … used clothing and jewelry items both to my size, take the money offered by the contempt and go to the same height as me medicine for my father, buy the long sick to. “(Yang Hsien-yi and 1960)

Lu Xun studied medicine in modern Japan actually, before turning to the literature. He saw traditional Chinese medicine and used as a fraud by scam artists to extract money from relatives in mourning. With today’s emphasis on traditional Chinese medicine in the West, I find it ironic how anti-Chinese traditional medicine is Lu Xun.

Yijia Kong

Another personal favorite stories of Lu Xun’s Yijia Kong. The main character in the story is called Yijia Kong and thus the title. This is a scholar who never goes to the imperial examination. Passing the imperial examination in China was the criterion for getting a government official in imperial China. Boys from wealthy families, who spend years learning the Chinese classics in preparation for the exam. Since learning of the classics is of little practical value, they hope to move and a government official. If it never happened, they were doomed to be useless or to learn a new skill set from scratch.

Yijia Kong is an example of a recurring failure of the investigation. He is lazy and likes to drink, not to do anything for a living. He occasionally copies of classic extra money, but finds it easier to fly instead. One of the classic lines of Lu Xun is to “take a book, can not be considered stealing … is take a book!” (Lyell 1990) This line is difficult to translate because Yijia Kong plays two different characters, the essentially mean “steal”. The first character (EIQ) is used frequently in the literature data and the scientific basis for Yijia Kong is the word he prefers. The second character (always) is often used in spoken Chinese.

An article on the right danwei.org Yijia Kong and the issue of software piracy against computer users in China today is to use the pirated software to Yijia Kong in the history of Lu Xun. In an attempt to curb software piracy, stop, Microsoft has a code that would contain a black screen with the users of pirated software. Yijia Kong as he insisted was not stolen, many people have responded in China and “was the self-righteously defend their own actions, although they were probably wrong.” (Martinsen, 2008)

Yijia Kong finally gets a spanking for stealing life crippling both legs broken. It is reduced to crawling through his hands and fly to his livelihood taken away. He eventually dies.

A glimpse into the childhood of Lu Xun, we find a parallel between his story and his past. Yijia Kong on a character is the uncle of Lu Xun, Zhou Ziqing, who lived in the family plot in Shaoxing Lu Xun and taught the classics. Zhou Ziqing spent years studying for the test of public service, but failed again and again. It was something of a nuisance within the limits of the family and do not contribute much, except to children the classics.

Uncle of Lu Xun and Yijia Kong shows the deficiencies in the civil service examination in feudal China. While the system prepares people well in the classics, he also produces a lot of people who have never passed the tests, but had for years in preparation. After their failure, they lacked the other skills to support themselves and their families. Lu Xun uncle eventually suicide by lighting the fire and jump off a bridge into the water below. He died several days later.

Coincidentally, America and Europe were initially presented on the review of the public service in the mid-1700s from China. The assessments of public service, such as the review of the foreign service, have their roots in the Chinese system. Fortunately for today’s candidates, but these ratings do not live at present on the dark passages of the Chinese classics.

Summary

Lu Xun was stigmatized as Charles Dickens of China, as with the design of Chinese thought at a crucial time in the history of China is crucial. For students of Chinese, I suggest you take the challenge to read his works. The hard work you put in is in appreciation of one of the greatest authors around the world are paid.

Are you sitting on the fence of the participation of horses from the clinic? Do not let your fear of failure or looking stupid in front of others, you may miss success with your horse!

If you’re like me earlier, you have heard a horse clinic and get you all excited about it. Make the flyer in the bag and have found that this time you actually participate. The payment deadline is approaching and you are excited.

* You begin to think about it not as good as others in the class.

* You are concerned that the behavior of your horse, you will look stupid or embarrass.

* Worried about your riding skills and how to bounce a lot in the saddle.

* Maybe you got that a few extra pounds, and you do not want the thinnest young ladies in the class so that you feel inadequate because you do not like the way you look.

* They are afraid that you do not “get” or you will not be able to succeed in the classroom. All these things are true feelings. They are all natural. All are sabotaging themselves. But each of them can be changed! There are a number of really important things to remember. First, even the best horse doctors had to start somewhere. You can bet they have some ropes wrapped around the head, or stumbled against a couple of times during learning. You can bet that they were cut off,
bitten, kicked or even trampled or crushed by a horse. Now they can earlier in their riding and learn what we have begun to have. But in no case someone has fallen out of bed and were just “good” with horses.

Have much to be learned. Second, horses are unpredictable. The best-trained horse may have something to do in the role. I saw the quietest horse in my experience, all of the sudden reaction to something that we would put the farm, they would have no problem with. Third, the horse is not easy. Who says that they “naturally” in my opinion has a defective self-esteem. Maybe they have the natural balance that makes them a little more sporty. But that was it.

Look around you, every ride, that the things to work. Whether the softness of the body, understanding the dynamics of movement and balance, brake position, emotion, energy … the list goes on. Just because one person to sit on a horse, does not mean that they understand more. Remember that those who are really good not only in this way. This simply means that the time you crossed them, they were at a higher level in their learning, that’s all. Forth, also have the beautiful people problems. That is why they are in the hospital. Finally, while driving to a doctor willing to recognize that the individual participants need it most and take steps to ensure they get the main ingredient for their personal growth by the end of the clinic.

One of my biggest inspirations was a woman in her late 50s. She was in a clinic with my style of driving age. She was overweight, thought she was too old and to add that she fell off a horse and spilled a few years before I met her. She loved her horse expensive, but they had all these factors, however. This lady, and I took a couple of times at clinics. She has never left. She came again and again. And the day when they finally galloped for the first time since his accident, there was not a dry eye in the place. Since then she has had two hip operations, bought a couple of young horses in the organized walks and hikes. They had all kinds of weight, and continues to put out there to learn and be better for his horses.

Do not Be A Victim “think’n stink’n.” The They deserve it and thanks to you and your horse out and learn. Books and videos are great, but nothing compared to the hands to the face, clinicians face a trip. It’s never too late. To put your worries aside, climb the fence and go
how much fun it is to learn and grow in a clinic in the riding is going on!

Terri Jordan, born in Wisconsin, which is currently live in central MA to the natural look, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, in April 2011 is to move. It will become the coach Terri residents, doctors and teachers of the installation of horses TNG.

Have you ever wondered why it is simply too boring, not some stick for a long time, quickly lose interest in things or change your opinion, what do you want and at the end by doing nothing? Good news: According to the book by Barbara Sher, you may be only a “scanner”.

Summary

Barbara Sher us closer to a plan to sort of person who, as described above is not followed, the traditional “what do you want a career and follow him with strength and passion for the rest of your life.”

More details

The subtitle of this book is “a revolutionary program to do what Love You” and alluded to the fact that the scanners are often claims to not be able to choose something and stay there. Barbara suggests the opposite, refusing to choose.

The author identifies seven types of scanners, divided into two groups: cyclic sequential scanner and scanner. The first three cyclic to the scanner include:

* Double Agent: These are people’s fantasies, two people, one done the right thing and the other one, free to live their dreams is to have.
* Sybil: This is someone who has many areas of interest and return for these courses and more, but rarely finished anything.
* Spinner Plate : You are a lot of things that are somehow activated at the same time as they solve problems, but all this leaves little time for their own projects.

Scanner cyclical know what their interests are opposed to sequential scanning, which always have to discover a new interest. The following six species belong to the sequential sampling:

* Special series: they often have in each area they are quite engaging, but often, when the finish top of their game, and start something new.
* Master Series: For the people, interests come and go, but love remains the master. Once they have mastered something, they go in search of a new project.
* Jack-of-all-trades: Jack’s love of learning for its own good. They are generally not keen to learn from a profession, but love, something new and help people.
* Wanderer: Someone who loves random experiments and were attributed to what looks attractive and interesting to go.
* Sampler: These people are looking for a particular type of wealth in their lives and find that there are very few opportunities to fill it.
* High-Speed ??Indecisive: They are perhaps the most misunderstood of all scanners, like you pulled something new faster than any other, but not because they lost interest, not because “they see something exciting.

Besides the detailed description of the different types of scanners, Barbara also has many useful tools and techniques that make life easier for the scanner.
